Alberta (CA) Specific Terms – theScore Bet

Effective: July 13, 2026

1. Purpose and Scope

These Alberta Specific Terms (“Alberta Terms”) supplement the Terms of Use (https://thescore.bet/legal/terms) (“Terms of Use”), and govern Score Media and Gaming Inc.’s (“theScore Bet”) provision of Services, theScore Bet, theScore Casino and Hollywood Casino, to you within the Province of Alberta. Your use of the Services in Alberta is subject to all applicable federal laws and regulations of Canada, the applicable laws and regulations of the Province of Alberta, the Governing Documents and these Alberta Terms. theScore Bet provides the Services to you in Alberta on behalf of Alberta’s iGaming Corporation (“AiGC”), an agent of His Majesty the King in right of Alberta (the “Crown”), and is also subject to its registration as an internet gaming operator with the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Commission (“AGLC”). All capitalized terms used herein but not defined shall have the meaning ascribed to them in the Terms of Use.

2. Excluded Persons

As stated in Section 6(d) of the Terms of Use, Excluded Persons are not permitted to establish an Account or use the Service. In Alberta, Excluded Persons include:

An individual under 18 years of age;
Every individual who advises theScore Bet that the individual is participating in a self-exclusion process that applies to the Services;
An individual who is known by theScore Bet to have been restricted from accessing the Services or is otherwise restricted from playing a lottery scheme as a condition of a court order;
Individuals who theScore Bet has reason to believe have been excluded from the Services under subsection 3.4.1 and 3.5.1 of the AGLC Standards and Requirements for Internet Gaming;
Officers, members of the board of directors, or partners of theScore Bet;
Executives or staff of a trade union who represent or negotiate on behalf of employees employed by theScore Bet, if applicable;
Employees of registered suppliers to theScore Bet who maintain or repair gaming equipment for theScore Bet;
Members or employees of the AGLC; and
Officers, members of the board of directors, or employees of the AiGC.
Employees of registered iGaming Suppliers of the theScore Bet.

3. Underage Gambling

In Alberta, a person who is under eighteen (18) years of age is not eligible to participate in Internet or mobile gambling. theScore Bet takes age-verification very seriously. theScore Bet carries out age-verification checks on all individuals during the Account creation process. theScore Bet will ask for information to verify your age and identity (including requesting a copy of a government issued identification) and can restrict or suspend your Account until your age and identity are confirmed. By signing up for an Account, you consent to theScore Bet’s confirmation of your age and identity, directly and through the use of third party identity and identification verification service providers. Please note that anyone under 18 years of age who is found to be using the Services may be reported to law enforcement and be subject to other legal penalties.

4. Prohibited Participants

In Alberta, in addition to those listed in Section 6(f) of the Terms of Use, Prohibited Participants also include the following:

An individual with access to non-public information related to an event or an individual who may impact the outcome of an event or bet type is prohibited from betting on any event overseen by the relevant sport or event governing body;
Athletes, coaches, managers, owners, referees, and anyone with sufficient authority to influence the outcome of an event are prohibited from betting on events overseen by the relevant sport or event governing body;
Owners (any person who is a direct or indirect legal or beneficial owner of 10% or greater) of a sport governing body or member team are prohibited from betting on any event overseen by the sport governing body or any event in which a member team of that sport or event governing body participates; and
Individuals involved in compiling betting odds for the competition in which they are involved.

5. No Wagering Outside of Alberta

You must be physically located inside the Province of Alberta to wager with theScore Bet.

6. Disputes

theScore Bet’s customer care and dispute resolution (“CCDR”) program was developed to ensure theScore Bet responds to player complaints and disputes in accordance with its operating agreement with Alberta’s iGaming Corp, including but not limited to AiGC’s Customer Care and Dispute Resolution Policy. theScore Bet responds to player complaints, disputes and inquiries in a timely, fair, transparent and appropriate manner. All player complaints and disputes will be adjudicated in accordance with Alberta law, pursuant to Section 29 of the Terms of Use.

Player’s may initiate complaints through any of the following communication channels: live chat in theScore Bet app, telephone at 1-844-953-2121 or by emailing support@thescore.bet. theScore Bet endeavours to respond to player complaints and disputes in a timely manner, and in any event within five (5) business days from the date the player formally raises a complaint. theScore Bet also endeavours to resolve all player complaints within ninety (90) days from the date of the complaint. theScore Bet’s CCDR program will be made available to players free of charge, and will not apply to complaints that relate to the interpretation or application of applicable law or the actions or inactions of any governmental authority.

7. Placing Wagers

By offering to place a wager with theScore Bet, and as a condition of theScore Bet accepting your wager, you represent and warrant, that you are not prohibited from placing said wager and that you will only attempt to place wagers within the geographic boundaries of the province of Alberta.

8. Dormant Accounts

In Alberta, Accounts are deemed “dormant” if the user has not logged in to the System for twelve (12) months. Dormant Accounts will be opted out of all bonuses in accordance with the Special Rules. In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, unclaimed balances in dormant Accounts may be forfeited.

9. Responsible Gaming

theScore Bet wants you to use the Services in a safe and responsible manner. We offer a range of options that can be used to manage your gaming activity at any time, including self-exclusion, cool-off periods and limits. 10. Alberta Prohibited Wagers

theScore Bet prohibits wagering on the following events in Alberta (each an “AB Prohibited Event”):

Events where the outcome cannot be documented and verified;
Events where the outcome cannot be generated by a reliable and independent process;
Events where the outcome is affected or could reasonably be affected by any bet placed;
Events or leagues where the majority of participants are under 18 years of age, where the event or league is broadly defined as assessing total participants in the event/league, rather than in a particular heat, game, match or final contest in the overall event/league;
Sporting events not effectively supervised by a sport governing body that, at a minimum, prescribes final rules and enforces codes of conduct, including prohibitions on betting by insiders (not applicable to novelty bets);
Events for which there are not integrity safeguards in place sufficient to mitigate the risks of match-fixing, cheat-at-play, or other illicit activity that might influence the outcome of the event;
Bets on past events where the outcome is publicly known;
Events or bets that are reasonably objectionable, including those that are unethical, derive entertainment from human suffering or death, or involve non-consensual violence or injury;
Events involving animal fighting or cruelty;
Bets on assets or financial markets (including, but not limited to, stocks, bonds, currencies, or real property);
Bets that expose players to losses greater than the amount wagered;
Bets that mimic the structure of financial instruments, products, or markets (including contracts for difference or spread betting);
Bets on synthetic lottery products or lottery outcomes;
Events that are not conducted in conformity with applicable laws; and
Minor league sports in Canada, including the Canadian Hockey League.

11. Disconnection, Misuse and Malfunction

theScore Bet, our affiliates, agents and licensors accept no responsibility and will not be liable for any loss resulting from delays or interruptions to play due to failure, breakdown, malfunction, interruption of or disconnection from the games server or any other causes over which we or they have no control. Misuse or system malfunction voids all bets, plays and pays. theScore Bet reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if theScore Bet reasonably determines that your account is associated with repeated and/or deliberate misuse of the Services.

In the event that a network disconnection such as failure or disconnection of computer, telecommunication services, Internet or otherwise occurs during game play the following will apply:  

where your input is not required to complete the game, the game shall produce the final outcome as determined by the random number generator and upon reconnection, the game outcome shall be reflected in the Account History; 
where your input is required to complete the game, the game shall not produce the final outcome and upon reconnection, you can return to the game state immediately prior to the disconnection to complete the game. Depending on the third party game provider, the game may be cancelled within 30 days, resulting in either the forfeiture of the customer’s wager or the return of funds to the customer in accordance with theScore Bet’s internal procedures, or  depending on the specific game’s rules, make a selection on behalf of the customer in order to complete the game; and
where the outset of a playing session is initiated within a permitted jurisdiction, but, at a later point in the playing session you enter a non-permitted jurisdiction the session will be placed in a pending state and you will have 30 days to complete the session in a permitted jurisdiction. Otherwise, the game will be cancelled, resulting in either forfeiture of the customer’s wager or the return of funds to the customer in accordance with theScore Bet’s internal procedures, or depending on the specific game provider’s rules.

Please note that disconnection policies may vary across casino game providers and are subject to the Terms and Conditions of each casino game.
